South America - Rio Carnival
Go Wild at Rio Carnival - the Biggest Party on Earth!
Things you'll see
Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
5 Days
Day 1.
On arrival into Rio De Janeiro you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel located in the Copacabana district.
Day 2.
This morning you will be picked up from you hotel and taken on a full day tour to visit the famous Corcovado (Christ the Redeemer) and Sugar Loaf Mountain.
The morning tour starts with a trip to the Cosme Velho station, where you'll catch the cog train. The train journey takes you through the dense Atlantic rain forest of Tijuca to the statue of Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado Mountain. You'll spend some time here with your tour guide, who will show you the sights of Rio from this soaring mountain-top vantage point. After this you will have some time to relax and enjoy lunch at a great downtown restaurant (lunch is included).
In the afternoon you'll drive through downtown Rio, past its fine collection of colonial-style Portuguese buildings, to pick up the cable car at Prai Vermelha (red beach). The cable car takes you to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain for wonderful views of Rio de Janeiro nestling between the mountains and the sea, and the magical sight of the sun dipping down over Copacabana beach.
Day 3. – Day 4.
These days are free for you to enjoy Rio Carnival. Spend some time at the famous Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, and take part in some of the many street parties and festivities that are a major feature of Carnival in Rio. There are many balls & galas which you may attend as well as football matches, and of course the main highlight of Carnival, an evening at the Sambadrome to see the Rio Samba Parade. The Samba Parade is something everybody should experience at least once in their life and is a highly orchestrated show of vast proportions; you will be blown away by the floats and the costumes, the music and the vibrancy in one of the greatest performances on Earth.
